Meet the thyme family


 Mike Smith, owner and executive chef of THYME TABLE, THYME CATERING CLE and KRAV FOOD TRUCK started his career in the industry as a dishwasher at the age of 15. He attended Miami University for a degree in history and religion while simultaneously working in the restaurant industry. His passion for food elevated and he discovered that working in a kitchen was where he felt most at home. Mike has since filled every position the restaurant industry has to offer. While he’s spent years in fine dining, serving presidents, politicians, celebrities and athletes he found a sweet spot right in the middle and is eager to present thoughtful dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere. He’s really proud of the team he’s putting together at THYME.
When he’s not holding down the fort at the restaurant he’s holding it down at home. Mike and his wife, Tess, reside in Bay Village with their five children and their 8 year old boxer, Bea.
When you ask Mike what the concept for Thyme Table is his response is pretty great... “I’m just really excited to provide my home town with something that’s missing. I think a great neighborhood restaurant in this part of town will really encourage more connection within the community. I’m just really excited to open the doors and share it with everyone. Our concept is simple. Good drinks. Good food. Good friends.” We hope to see all of you soon.

Eric Scott, originally from Detroit (don’t hold it against him) worked in marketing and PR for 15 ye

 Eric Scott, originally from Detroit (don’t hold it against him) worked in marketing and PR for 15 years before moving to Cleveland. Here Eric fell in love with the hospitality industry and truly found his niche behind the bar. He has served beside some of the industries finest and we can’t believe he’s ours. Eric is introducing a fantastic wine program along with world class cocktails and techniques. We think you’ll love his relaxed approach and expertise behind the bar. He’s a master of his craft and brings fresh ideas, whit and charm to the TABLE.   

Chef de Cusine


 Dan Beam, originally from the west side of Cleveland, has been in the industry since starting his career in the Culinary Arts program at LCJVS. After that Dan moved to Charleston, SC to attend Johnson and Wales Culinary School. While there Dan worked at some of the best Charleston had to offer. He moved back to Cleveland 15 years ago and has enjoyed his time serving dishes at several of the areas restaurants. His experience recently lead him on a path as a culinary instructor before coming aboard at THYME TABLE. We are so anxious to get him in the kitchen and allow him to do his thing. Dan brings a lot of enthusiasm and years of experience.

Pastry CHef


Around the Village this sweet gal needs no introduction. Laura Jerina Potts grew up in Bay Village and has since traveled around the States and served as a pastry chef for over a decade before hanging up her apron to raise her girls..
She recently moved back to CLE and spent the last year in the kitchen at THYME Catering CLE.  She has been invaluable to us and we’re thrilled to have her join us full time as our pastry chef.  Her sweets are the perfect way to end a meal. Laura focuses on creating visually stunning pastries that taste exceedingly better than they look. Her attention to the entire dessert experience is admirable. We’re pleading with you... save room for dessert.
